Lembar port (Lembar Harbor) is a major Indonesian seaport located on the Lombok Island's southwest coast. The port has shipping facilities and wharves (berths). Lembar port is approx 22 km (14 ml) south of Mataram.
Lembar is the main harbor in the southwest of Lombok that connects it with Bali by slow ferry. The ferries leave every 2 hours and take around 4-5 hours crossing to Padang bai harbor in Bali. The harbor is around 33 km from Mataram, 48 km from senggigi and 55 km from Kuta Lombok.
Lombok Island is roughly circular, with Sekotong Peninsula located to the southwest, approx 70 km (43 ml) from Lembar. The island has a total area of 4514 km2 (1743 ml2) and population of over 3,3 million. In 2013, the Lembar Harbor seaport reported gross tonnage of handled cargo ships around 4,3 million GT. This was an increase of 72% over 2012.
Most cruise ships to Lombok Island dock at Lembar Harbor - port on the island's south-western coast. Larger-sized ships anchor in the harbour and their passengers are transported to the wharves via the ship's tender boats.
