The province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) once again demonstrated its extraordinary appeal in the tourism sector. As of October 2025, the number of tourist visits to North Lombok Regency was reported to have reached more than 661 thousand people, reflecting a continuous positive trend that increases every year. This figure reflects the growing interest of tourists in Lombok's natural beauty and unique culture, which is becoming increasingly well-known both domestically and internationally.

North Lombok's main attraction lies in the charm of the Three Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air), which have become world class tourism icons. The beauty of white sand beaches, crystal-clear seawater, and well preserved underwater ecosystems make North Lombok a dream destination for nature lovers and divers worldwide. In addition, the local government's efforts to improve infrastructure and tourism services have also contributed to the increase in visits. Continuously improved infrastructure support and increasingly professional tourism services further strengthen North Lombok's position as a favorite tourist destination in NTB.

Interestingly, the latest data from the NTB Tourism Office also shows that foreign tourist visits to NTB experienced a significant surge throughout 2025. Countries such as Australia, France, and Germany dominate the list of most frequent visitors. This trend confirms that Lombok is now starting to be seen as an attractive alternative to Bali, with its authentic Sasak culture and a quieter, more natural atmosphere.

Not only is it famous for beach tourism, but North Lombok is also known for its mountainous natural charm. Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile Waterfalls in the Rinjani area are favorite destinations for tourists who want to enjoy a cool atmosphere and natural adventure. The concept of sustainable tourism is also continuously promoted by the local government to ensure that the preservation of nature is maintained amid the increasing number of tourist visits.

Given this rapid growth, North Lombok has great potential to become one of Indonesia's main destinations in the future. Collaboration between the government, tourism business operators, and the local community is expected to maintain this momentum, while strengthening NTB's image as a friendly and sustainable international tourist destination.
