Gili Meno is located in the middle of the three Gili islands, only a kilometer away from Gili Trawangan. Gili Meno, the smallest and the most peaceable, is only two kilometers long and one wide. It is nice to walk around the island and only needs under two hours along the way.

Most visitors are drawn to Gili Meno by the allure of total relaxation, making it a popular destination for honeymooning couples and adventurous castaway types. As dusk approaches, the dining scene is dominated by local cafes serving grilled fish on the beach.

Lazing in a beach chair, reading a book, and playing chess with the friendly locals are also high on the Meno agenda. For divers and snorkelers, the island has the infamous 'Gili Meno Wall,' where turtles freely swim by during the day and giant gorgonian fans hang among the colorful corals.

Divers can see huge Moray Eels and the entertaining Spanish Dancers, baby cuttlefish, and a variety of crustaceans at night. Gili Meno is a romantic and peaceful island, ideal for those seeking peace and quiet while on a honeymoon, exploring tropical beaches, or reading a book.

Things To Do in Gili Meno 

1. Sun-Bathing

Gili Meno has a limited number of activities, which contributes to its allure. Those who simply cannot resist some form of activity will find the ideal for a morning or afternoon of sunbathing on the clear water beach.

2. Turtle Sanctuary

The Turtle Sanctuary is vital in protecting and hatching baby turtles for release into Gili waters. Small contributions to this worthy cause are welcome.

3. Water activities ( Snorkeling and Diving )

Gili Islands are well-known for their incredible coral reefs, as well as their water clarity and temperature. If you want to try scuba diving, there are a variety of day trips and full certification courses available that will have you diving with turtles and amazing coral.

You'll meet countless sea turtles and thousands of colorful fish after jumping into the warm water in Gili Meno. The Meno wall, a steep drop-off with an eerie atmosphere, was the next option to stop.  Floating above a shipwreck, watching the scuba divers below us investigate the wreckage of the old ship. On the western side of the island, there is also a collection of bicycles that form an artificial reef, which was become a favorite underwater attraction.

4. Meno Lake

A saltwater lake and a mangrove forest can be found on the island of Gili Meno. It's a tranquil spot for a walk or reading a book. There are a few small huts just over the water, and it would be a very peaceful spot to watch the sunrise or sunset.

Get Around

Because of its small size, tourists can walk the entire island of Gili Meno in less than two hours. Bicycles are available for rent at some hotels and kiosks. However, due to damaged conditions or deep sand, not all roads on Gili Meno can be passed by bicycle, so you must walk. Another option is using Cidomo. Cidomo is a public transportation system (horse carriages) in Gili Islands. Before renting Cidomo, ask for the rate and don't be afraid to bargain if it's too expensive.

How to get to Gili Meno?

The only realistic way to reach Gili Meno from Bali is by boat. But only 1 boat serves direct transport from Bali to Gili Meno. Another options, use boats from Bali to Gili Trawangan and then use public boats to reach Gili Meno
