Gili Air, the sweetest island among Gili Islands

This may be only a small island of the Gili Islands, but it’s by no means any less exciting. Beaches, bars, watersports, Snorkeling and diving are the highlight of the activities that characterize this island. So if you’re a fan of any of those then you won’t be disappointed.

You can find many homestays or budget accommodations on this island. Choosing where to stay in Gili Air can be a challenge with so many options.

How to get to Gili Air

From Lombok, you can take public boats available hourly from Bangsal harbor in Lombok. Crossing by public boat takes about 30 minutes. And from Bali, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Lembongan, there are several fast boat companies that offer direct transportation from Bali to Gili Air and Penida to Gili Air. But, it is possible to get off in Bangsal or Gili Trawangan and use a public boat to Gili Air.

Accommodations and other tourism facilities are mostly located on the south and east coasts facing Lombok. The boat landing is in the center of the south coast.

Get Around

Because of its small land size, tourists can explore the entire Gili Air island by walking in less than 2 hours.

Some hotels and stands rent bicycles. However, not all roads on Gili Air can be passed by bicycle due to damaged conditions or through deep sand so you have to walk.

For mass transportation, there are Cidomo (horse carriages). Before renting Cidomo, it's better to ask about the rate and don't hesitate to bargain if it is too expensive.
